SUMMARY & ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of Teacher III :
Direct classroom activities; is concerned with the health and safety of the children. Performs educational and non-educational functions which contribute to the development of the child.
The teacher works with children and parents and serves as a guide for team members involved and contributing to the development of the child.
Does related work as required
The incumbent of this position assists in performing educational work that insures a healthy, safe facility and a conductive educational climate for infants / toddlers. Examples of work :
- Works closely with parents and all service area staff
- Insures a healthy and safe environment
- Models positive work ethic for parents and staff
- Makes required home visits and conducts parent conferences for all children.
- Maintains confidentiality
- Keeps current with new education research, attends all staff meetings and in service trainings.
- Greets parents and children on arrival and escorts children arriving to and from the bus.
- Models, guides and directs teachers, volunteers and parents in the program.
- Works closely and directly ensuring education team is performing tasks designated through joint planning with team members and parents developing and implementing a daily and overall instructional plan.
- Maintains effective and efficient records, reports and data for the program
- Works closely as a team and other service area staff in regards to the concerns of children and families having specific needs.
- Involved in meal time with the infant / toddler; provides supervision and guidance and assists with clean up.
- Does related work as required with the agency in providing services to children and families
- Other duties may be assigned.
Salary Information :
17.03 USD Hourly Onwards

Erie County resident preferred
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
BS in Early Childhood Education with two (2) year teaching experience - or
Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education required with at least (3) three years of teaching experience working with preschool age children
