We are looking to grow our team of Artisans with a Technical Writer.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented IT Technical Writer to support our product team in creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation.

This role requires collaboration with product managers, developers, and designers to produce user manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.

A key focus will be on diagramming processes and system architectures to enhance understanding.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the product team to gather information on product features, functionalities, and user requirements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, API documentation, release notes, and internal guides.
  • Develop clear and informative diagrams (flowcharts, UML, system architecture diagrams) to illustrate complex concepts and workflows.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and follows established style guidelines.
  • Use tools such as Miro, Gliffy, or Figma and documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, GitBook) to create and manage content.
  • Participate in product development meetings to stay informed of updates and changes that may impact documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in an IT or software development environment.
  • Strong skills in creating diagrams and visual representations of technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with various documentation tools and diagramming software.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and convey them in a user-friendly manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Extra Credit

  • BS in Computer Science related degree, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • Prior experience as a software engineer or solution architect
  • Experience with eCommerce and retail solutions and environments
  • Experience with supply chain & logistics solutions and environments
