Our client, a rapidly expanding company in the food & beverage, fuel, and retail sector, is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join their Las Vegas team. What You'll Do
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger with precision
- Manage month-end and year-end closes for multiple business entities, including revenue, inventory, and expense reporting
- File sales tax, fuel tax, and other regulatory reports across multiple states
- Reconcile bank accounts and merchant deposits; research and resolve discrepancies quickly
- Track and reconcile fuel inventory, vendor payables, and franchise royalty activity
- Assist with fixed asset management for store and restaurant locations
- Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and support process improvements
- Partner with operations and finance teams to maintain accurate financial data as the organization scales

At least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in retail, fuel, or franchise operations.Proficiency in general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.Knowledge of monthly and year-end close processes, including revenue and inventory reporting.Experience managing sales tax, fuel tax, and multi-state compliance filings.Strong skills in bank statement reconciliation and investigating variances.Familiarity with inventory accounting and fixed asset tracking.Ability to support audit requests and contribute to process improvements.Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
