Overview

Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire's Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach. Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.

Responsibilities

Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.

Examples of Duties , includes but is not limited to the following :

  • Responsible for the recording of transactions to ensure adherence to generally accepted Accounting Principles and adherence to Corporate Master Accounting policy
  • Prepare standard monthly journal entries and submit for review
  • Review all Balance Sheet accounts for accuracy and completeness and explain any unresolved exceptions to the Corporate Chief Accounting Officer
  • Compare monthly financial statement results with month end managerial results and explain all material differences
  • Any Balance Sheet account with other than a normal balance must be highlighted and explained in the current period workpapers
  • All liabilities that relate to tax returns must be compared to the return(s) for the appropriate period and discrepancies noted
  • Prepare monthly all Balance Sheet account reconciliations with complete detail support and appropriate review and sign off as explained in the Master Accounting Policy
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of four years relevant education and experience preferred
  • Two to four years related experience. Two years supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to perform basic math skills. Ability to operate office equipment (i.e., computer, 10-key, copier, fax, and telephone)
  • Computer literate in word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff
  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions
