Overview / Job Summary :
As a FutureMaker Demonstrator , you will play a crucial role in engaging students and the community in various activities that inspire and cultivate interest in technical and vocational pathways. You will have the opportunity to showcase WSU Tech’s programs, facilities, and resources through hands-on demonstrations and interactive learning experiences, contributing to workforce development and educational outreach.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :
Assists students with the operation of devices to increase interest in technical careers with on the job trainingUtilizes audio and visual and virtual / augmented reality equipment in a variety of settings both on and off campusAssists with the development of audio and video productions to increase awareness of technical careers and their education pathsSupports development of new hands-on activities to demonstrate STEM and technical careersAssists with event setup, pack up of gear and appropriate storage of indoor and outdoor eventsAbility to present to a group of students in a variety of environments that is clear and engagingEngages and attracts potential students for technical college programs of studyWorks closely with the team on maintenance and design projects for FutureMaker Lab Program improvementProvides excellent customer service as well as presents a professional image to the publicAbility to travel with potential weekend and evening hours requiredEnforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ordinancesOperates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools and other aids as required or neededProtects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronicRequirements
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.Ability to learn and operate new computer softwareKnowledge of technical fields such as aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, construction sciences or otherExcellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize workAbility to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independentlyAssess situations rapidly and make logical decisions in a timely mannerAnalyze facts and exercise sound judgmentAbility to effectively manage projects and multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong written and verbal communication skillsProblem solving and critical thinking skillsStrong math, spelling, computer, and calculator abilitiesAbility to communicate in a professional, calm and courteous manner with the general public and employeesAttention to detailBenefits
