Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Location : Denver, CO
Position Summary
The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is responsible for ensuring all fabrication and construction activities meet internal quality standards and external accreditation requirements, including ISO 9001, AISC, and ASME. This role conducts inspections, supports internal and external audits, and collaborates with production teams to uphold a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities and scope expand based on experience and competency level.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate company conformance with Quality Management System (QMS), AISC, and ASME certification requirements.
- Conduct inspection and testing services to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes.
- Monitor fabrication and field activities to ensure adherence to client expectations and quality objectives.
- Report QMS progress, findings, and corrective actions to the Quality Manager.
- Review construction and fabrication plans to verify compliance with building codes, local ordinances, and regulations.
- Perform on-site inspections using precision measurement tools, survey instruments, and testing equipment to verify code compliance.
- Confirm product alignment, level, elevation, and dimensional accuracy.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, including photographic documentation and written reports.
- Communicate inspection results and recommendations clearly and professionally.
- Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential required.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.Demonstrated knowledge of ISO, AISC, and ASME standards and inspection practices.Skilled in interpreting blueprints, weld symbols, and technical documentation.Strong attention to detail and analytical ability in evaluating conformance.Able to work independently and exercise sound judgment when resolving complex inspection issues.Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in fabrication or construction environments.OSHA 10 / 30 or related safety certifications preferred.Company Description
