General Summary
Dispatchers answers and responds to any emergency or non-emergency calls to provide assistance or important information. Dispatchers are part of our team of healthcare professionals attending out-of-hospital medical incidents and inter-facility medical transports. Their main duties include logging each call, providing answers to questions by retrieving information from the necessary departments and supervising the field units' routes to prioritize and organize their schedules.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
To receive and confirm All assignments for the dayTo calculate time and distance between assignmentsTo coordinate assignments and units, then produce a schedule and get it approved prior to assigning driversTo communicate with ALL units operating in the field and know there whereabouts ALWAYSTo control all communications via the radio system including landline and cellular communicationsTo keep a log of ALL communication equipment and its userInstitute a system for accountability for units, patients, equipment and informationTo keep Supervisors updated as to the day to day operations of the unitsOrganize, allocate and catalogue ALL company resourcesWrite and submit concrete and accurate reports on incidentsAdhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standardsKeep abreast with new guidelines and procedures through continuous trainingKeeping work environment cleanAll other assigned tasksWorking conditions : Office environment, desk sittingKnowledge, skills, experience required
