Supervisor Position
Supervisor responsibilities include organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all staff stays on task and complete all assignments to ServiceMaster standards. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of cleaning principles and team management abilities.
Responsibilities include :
- Training cleaners on ServiceMaster's standards, products, processes and procedures.
- Overseeing staff performance and ensuring all assignments are completed in accordance to set task schedule.
- Training cleaners on task schedules specific to individual accounts.
- Performing inspections and giving constructive performance feedback to staff members.
- Assigning shifts and making necessary adjustments in case of call offs or no shows.
- Responding to customer complaints and requests in a timely and caring manner.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and OSHA regulations.
- Using proper PPE where required.
- Opening and locking facilities, enabling and disabling security system as required.
- One to two years' experience as a custodian, janitor, housekeeper is a plus but not required.
- Will provide on the job training to those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital or school is a plus.
- The ability to be flexible, work at a fast-paced and in a multi-tasked job is a must.
- Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable and on time.
- Has respect and understanding for co-workers and customers.
- Must be able to communicate in English. Bilingual is a plus.
Physical demands and qualifications include :
Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching over head, reaching forward. Must be able to lift and / or carry 25lbs.Ability to read cleaning instructions.Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses.
