Grant Accountant
We are partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization located near the University of Chicago to hire a detail-oriented Grant Accountant. This role plays a key part in ensuring the financial integrity of grant funding and supporting programs that make a meaningful impact in the community.
Grant Accountant Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the financial aspects of federal, state, and private grants, including budgeting, compliance, and reporting.
- Prepare timely and accurate grant-related financial statements and reports for funders and internal stakeholders.
- Track and reconcile grant expenditures, ensuring alignment with grant agreements and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with program managers to monitor budgets and provide guidance on allowable costs.
- Assist in the preparation of audits, ensuring proper documentation of grant activity.
- Support the Finance Director and leadership team with ad hoc analysis and reporting.
Grant Accountant Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.3+ years of experience in grant accounting or nonprofit financial management.Strong knowledge of GAAP and federal grant compliance (Uniform Guidance preferred).Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.Proficiency in Excel; experience with nonprofit accounting systems a plus.Why Join :
