POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sushi Chef will prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes for the restaurant. The position will be responsible for all aspects of sushi preparation and ensuring exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. This Sushi Chef will assist in maintaining the highest standards of quality, creativity, hygiene, food safety and efficiency in sushi production.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety
- Adhere to training guide / recipe specs, creating rolls based upon guidelines provided by leadership
- inspect the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes and inform management when quality is sub-standard
- Monitor inventory levels for a wide range of raw fish and other ingredients. Report any shortages to management
- Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations at all times
- Demonstrate expert cutting, slicing and filleting techniques for different types of fish and vegetables
- Sterilize all utensils, instruments, and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use
- Maintaining a clean work environment in order to prevent food contamination
- Report any problems with kitchen equipment to the manager on duty
- Create an expectation for a clean work environment in order to prevent food contamination
- Demonstrate an expert understanding of food waste and costs and how it impacts the goals of the kiosk
- Maintain attention to detail throughout the food preparation process, ensuring strict quality control
- Any other tasks as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The base pay range for this position is between $20-25 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history / job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
