American Traveler is seeking a CA-licensed RN with critical care assessment skills and ER, ICU, or transfer center experience for a non-bedside Transfer Center Clinical role.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is based in an acute care transfer center with no direct patient care responsibilitiesHandles transfers for all patient types from hospitals within and outside the health systemAverage caseload of 10-15 cases per shift, working with multiple hospitalsWorks 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requiredNo floating required; first to float if necessaryUses Cerner EMR, TeleTracking, Tiger Connect, and Google appsScrubs of any color are permitted as long as clean and professional; jeans and hoodies allowed if presentableOrientation includes 1 day of general and 3-5 days of department-specific training, which may occur on any shiftPrimary responsibility is to facilitate and coordinate patient transfers by securing physician acceptance and arranging bed placementWill work closely with a support team including supervisors and leadershipNo direct patient contact or bedside care requiredHoliday coverage may be needed depending on operational demandMust have excellent customer service skills, multitasking abilities, and learn quicklyLimited requested time off is allowed; schedule flexibility is expectedFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyCandidates must not have worked directly for CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year; PRN via outside firms is acceptedFree onsite parking and electric vehicle charging available\n \n Requirements\n
Active unrestricted CA RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years' recent ICU, ED, or transfer center experience in an acute care settingDemonstrated critical care assessment skills and clinical judgementExperience with Cerner or Epic EMR is requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredStrong computer skills; able to use multiple simultaneous applicationsProfessional references : 1 from a supervisor within the past 12 months and 1 peer or supervisor within the past 3 yearsMust pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam (or equivalent within 12 months) prior to acceptance, with a maximum of two attempts\n Benefits\n
