Overview of Position : The FOH Assistant Manager is responsible for supervising dining areas, including training of FOH staff on interaction with guests and delivering a premier dining experience. This role works closely with the General Manager to uphold high standards of service including cleanliness, efficiency, and building relationships with members and guests.
Job Duties :
- Oversees all FOH restaurant operations.
- Assist with supervisory functions including hiring and training staff.
- Manage staff scheduling and payroll, and other staff relations issues that may arise.
- Work closely with staff to ensure successful dining service on a daily basis.
- Be visible and available to both guests and staff, and interact with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure that guests are served properly and in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve guest complaints
- Facilitate communication between FOH and BOH staff.
- Monitor orders in the kitchen to determine where backups may occur, and work to remedy any delays in service.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership behavior and high levels of professionalism.
- Coordinate with various departments to execute special events.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all Windham Mountain Club operations.

2+ years leadership experience in FOH restaurant operations, preferably in an upscale dining environment4+ years customer service experienceExcellent interpersonal skillsMust be self-motivated and organizedComfortable interacting with staff and guests in a friendly and helpful mannerAble to handle a stressful, noisy, and crowded work environmentInnovative and open-minded about improving fine dining operationsMust be able to independently evaluate situations and make quick decisionsProficient computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and OutlookMust be able to handle a crisis effectivelyMust have or obtain TIPS certification prior to starting workPhysical Requirements :
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 25 pounds.Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours.Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, including snow and ice covered surfaces.Ability to climb stairs and ladders.Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Work Schedule and Conditions : We are in the business of providing a premier product and experience for our guests. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods.
