Requires extensive experience with programming PLCs and HMIs, and knowledge of various PLCs and SCADA software. Extensive experience troubleshooting problems in operational situations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time is required. Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives from Project Managers, Contractors, and Regulators. Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Job Brief
The I&C Specialist III is responsible for utilizing and programing PLC control systems, SCADA Systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for water / wastewater projects. The I&C Specialist III utilizes AutoCAD to design and develop complex instrument control loops, instrument and electrical installation details, instrument location drawings, motor control schematics, conduit routing, and control panel design.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes and programs PLC control systems, SCADA Systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for water / wastewater projects.
- Prepares specifications and drawings, writes control system descriptions, and performs start up and commissioning activities with minimal input from other personnel.
- Understands and implements communications systems such as Ethernet based local area networks and wireless radio systems.
- Creates instrument material take-offs from drawings.
Works closely with Project Managers, project team, and clients to implement solutions.
