TITLE : Engineering Assistant

REPORTS TO : Distribution Engineering Manager

CLASSIFICATION : Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary :

The Engineering Assistant aids the engineering department in all aspects of member relations and

engineering workflow. Strives for excellent communication between the department and the member.

Maintains confidentiality of member and Coop information.

Essential Functions :

Advises and counsels members and prospective members on matters pertaining to services. Helps

members understand the Cooperatives engineering processes and timelines and the

responsibilities of the member.

Prepares the necessary documentation for new and existing members through DocuSign and by

mail. Ensures that all required membership applications, contracts, and required fees are in place

and in compliance with Cooperative policies.

Manages right-of-way easement filings with the county.

Assists with preparing work orders for release to construction department.

Assists with the preparation and securing of special permits as required for new line construction.

Maintains a caring, courteous, and professional attitude and disposition in dealings with the

membership and the general public meeting the needs of any member contact.

Supports a safety culture of promoting safety first in all aspects of the job and exhibiting

examples of safe practices. Participates at an employees level in the Cooperatives safety plan.

Provides feedback as requested about safety related issues.

Promotes coordination and cooperation between all departments of the Cooperative. Promotes

team spirit and enthusiasm between employees of the Department.

Maintains and develops safeguards to maintain all confidential Cooperative, Consumer, and

Personnel information.

Reports any irregularities in Cooperative operations to the Distribution Engineering and / or the

COO.

Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required.

3 years experience in Cooperative experience preferred.

Work experience may be substituted for the education requirement as well as additional education

may be substituted for work experience.
