Manager, Procurement - Fleet Assets
Brickworks is seeking an experienced and results-driven Procurement Manager, Fleet Assets to oversee the company's fleet of mobile assets, including trucks, trailers, wheel loaders, forklifts, and other heavy equipment. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of fleet assets from acquisition to disposal while ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and operational reliability. This person will work cross-functionally with finance and operations teams to drive savings, supplier performance, and long-term fleet strategy.
Duties :
- Oversee the management of the company's fleet, including trucks, trailers, loaders, forklifts, and heavy equipment.
- Manage the fleet asset database from acquisition to disposal, ensuring accurate and consistent data across all assets.
- Optimize utilization of surplus equipment and oversee refurbishment plans when feasible.
- Maintain all vehicle information, inspection records, and vendor data.
- Organize fleet-related purchasing, including price and contract negotiations, capital expenditure requests, and approval documentation.
- Partner with the Executive VP Finance and Procurement Director on leasing and financing arrangements.
- Lead initiatives to deliver KPIs such as cost savings, supplier rationalization, risk mitigation, and improved supplier performance.
- Oversee relationships with leasing companies, maintenance providers, and other fleet vendors.
- Provide oversight on the best methods of repair for company equipment.
- Maximize equipment uptime through the use of a national maintenance system, tracking utilization, maintenance trends, and costs.
- Coordinate equipment rotation between sites and ensure annual maintenance contracts are in place.
- Manage leasing and maintenance budgets, ensuring effective cost control.
- Oversee the national fuel card program.
- Ensure all leased and owned fleet assets are properly insured and assist with annual renewals.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement and enforce company policies related to fleet operations and driver safety.
- Develop and monitor key fleet KPIs, including maintenance costs, utilization rates, and supplier performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations on fleet efficiency, lifecycle planning, and cost optimization.
Education and experience requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain & Logistics, Business, Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.5+ years of experience in fleet management and procurement strategies.Proven ability to oversee procurement, servicing, operation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment.Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, leasing, and full equipment lifecycle management.Skilled in researching, comparing, and purchasing vehicles, equipment, and supplies.Experience managing budgets, capital expenditures, and cost-control initiatives.Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, dashboards) and ability to leverage data analysis for decision-making.Experience preparing and analyzing reports, KPIs, and cost / benefit analyses to drive process improvements.Proficiency with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred) and fleet management software.In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance (DOT and OSHA) for fleet and equipment operations.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to travel 5-10% for site audits and meet with key stakeholdersThis job description is not intended to be all inclusive and as such, the employee will also be required to perform other reasonably related business duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor and / or other management personnel as required.
