Electrical & Instrumentation Design Lead

Job Overview / Summary :

Seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Design Lead who is responsible for supporting and actively participating in detailed I&E design activities in a variety of off-shore and on-shore projects. The position is on-site in Houston, Texas.

This position involves managing the day-to-day taskings of our design & drafting team including resourcing, training & mentorship, checking drawings, ensuring deadlines are met, and working with our engineering and project management teams to generate drawing package deliverables.

In this position, you will interface with project managers and other discipline leads to ensure accuracy and consistency across engineering packages, from the design to the construction phase.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Work scheduling, project and resource planning.
• Supervision of department staff members.
• Ensure accuracy of completed drawings before final release and verify drawings meet company and industry standards.
• Produce drawings and deliverables utilizing company standards within a project-approved schedule and budget.
• Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design.
• Utilize 2D or 3D computer aided design software to create layouts of instrument systems, devices and components, and create fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Interface with engineers, designers, and other office personnel.
