Overview
The Restoration Production Manager oversees all aspects of production staff. His or her responsibilities center around customer satisfaction, revenue and profit growth, management development, and staff development. This front-line management position leads their team to operational excellence. The production manager is measured on having a ready team of production members who are knowledgeable, well trained, supplied with necessary equipment in good working condition as well as being proficient and safe drivers. The production manager closely supervises the production staff on a daily basis.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Customer ServiceOversees the customer / client experience and overall satisfaction, ensuring all production staff are well trained, meet and exceed expectations for job quality, and customer interactions with crews are professional, helpful, and polite.
Ensures that all technicians' appearance meets company expectations (uniforms, cleanliness, neat appearance, no piercings, well groomed)Production CapacityMeets regularly with GM to assess capacity needs
Creates hiring and training plans for production crew and manages those plans to meet present and future needsEnsures that team of technicians is capable and ready for emergency and regularly scheduled jobsCreates plan for and ensures that production crews are ready to dispatch during storm events to include technicians supervising tempsResponsible for hiring, placing ads, interviewing and hiring of production staffProduction Staff Training and ManagementEnsures production staff is fully capable to perform necessary responsibilities.
Ensures that each technician completes all required training. Oversees individual training and schedules technician training. Creates training plan for each technician and ensures that this is followed to include :Driver training modules. Includes production manager riding with technician to complete driver safety courseLMS trainingDryBook trainingOther training modulesSchedules IICRC certification courses for promising technicians that show ability and interestMeets with each production staff member biweekly to review job performance, career development and training planCreates plan for and assesses and supports production staff in their training development for career growthAttains required number of crew chiefs or leads by developing exceptional techniciansResponsible for job reviews, approving time off requests, managing all HR responsibilities for production staffIdeally spends 50% of day out in the field at each job to assess work quality, adherence to guidelines and expectations, and perform field training. Production manager's goal is to get to every job every day when possible.Regularly meets with project managers for feedback on technician performance and to identify necessary areas of improvementCollaboration with office and project managersFacilitates changes to crew schedule and communicates updated information to office staff
Works with office manager and project managers each day to develop efficient daily job scheduleFacilities and EquipmentResponsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, organization of warehouse and office facilities.
Manages and directs daily schedule of facilities supervisor.Ensures all equipment is clean and is in good, ready working condition.Ensures any broken or damaged equipment is repaired promptly and put back into serviceAssesses product and consumable needs weekly and works with GM to maintain proper inventory levels.Responsible to produce an accurate and complete equipment inventory monthly and submit to GM and owner monthlyVehiclesPerforms daily inspection of all vehicles and holds all staff to maintain clean and organized vehicles
Responsible for all vehicle scheduled maintenance and repair (recalls, inspections, etc.)Regular inspection of employee company vehicles to ensure adherence to company maintenance, cleanliness and to ensure vehicle-related policies are being followedNecessary Experience and Skill Set
Minimum 3 years of experience in water and fire restoration operations.Minimum 1 year management and / or supervisory experience.Strong interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and management skills.Strong communication skills, oral and written.Experience in cleaning, restoration, and construction.Formal Education / Training
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or bachelor's degree strongly preferred.Current industry IICRC certifications strongly preferred.Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Walking and / or standing throughout the day. Frequent driving and sitting. Occasionally climbing ladders. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat. The noise level at individual jobsites can be loud.
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements
This is a full-time position, working 7 : 00 a.m.–5 : 00 p.m., Monday–Friday, 40+ hours per week. This position requires participating in an after hours on-call rotation, and occasional weekend work. Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may occur.
Pay Rate : $70,000 plus performance bonus
