The Director of Annual Giving is an integral part of the Oral Roberts University development department and reports to the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations. This position is responsible for the strategic leadership and implementation of all aspects of the annual giving program (donors of less than $10K annually), including but not limited to : annual giving solicitation, stewardship, prospect research, identification and qualification of annual giving donors, pipeline development for major gifts, as well as oversee all marketing and solicitation of annual giving donors from key constituents including alumni, parents, faculty and staff and other individuals.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Lead and manage annual strategy and day-to-day work plan for the annual giving program, including key initiatives like ORU's Annual Giving Day, Summer Solicitation, Giving Tuesday, Calendar Year End, and more.
• Manage a portfolio of lead annual giving prospects and directly engage with key donors
• Collaborate with the database team to drive data-driven decisions.
• Develop and oversee a strategy to improve acquisition, renewal and pledge fulfillment of annual giving donors.
• Oversee various Annual Giving fundraising programs and appeals, ensuring they meet targeted objectives and timelines.
• Secure new, renewed, or increased funding from individuals through online giving, direct mail and digital campaigns, special events, and direct proposals
• Create and manage a schedule of multi-dimensional appeals for Annual Giving, including setting donor and financial goals, and identifying new donor opportunities. (i.e. electronic solicitation, direct mail, face-to-face solicitations, special events, etc) to communicate with potential and current donors.
• Tracking & Reporting : Develop and manage an effective system for tracking and cultivating donors and prospects via organizational databases, e-tools provided by the University; maintain donor files. Track and report all communication touches and results. Complete various reports for supervisor at specific intervals. Collect, analyze, and report data to assess trends, track performance, and inform future strategies.
• Tell the story of your communication with sufficient detail to follow up with the next contact.
• Document so that person reading will feel like they know the donor.
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Development, including but not limited to Development and Alumni Relations related events.

• Complete online training required by HR- CyberSecurity etc.
• Training on tools, programs (BFPM) and other job related specific skills training.

Job Specifications

Bachelor's degree and prefer a minimum of 3 years of fundraising experience, preferably at higher education setting.

Must possess a valid state driver's license and have an excellent driving record for the purpose of driving university leased vehicles.

Expectations

The Annual Giving Director will report weekly on progress of annual giving program plan, prospects, stewardship and portfolio progress. Collaborate with VP on setting and maintaining annual goals.

Experience / Skills / Abilities

Ability to cultivate a relationship with a particular territory or group of clients is required. Prefer marketing, entrepreneur, sales, or fundraising experience; high sociability and personable interaction required.

Physical & Environmental Demands

Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting of upper body, and manual dexterity for operation of any office machines or equipment. Vision to include : near, far, visual accommodation, color, and depth perception. Must be able to hear sound(s) clearly and distinctly in order to effectively receive, understand and reiterate information

Department Location

The on-campus department is located on the second floor of the Armand Hammer Alumni-Student Center and is accessible by an elevator and stairs. Should an accommodation be required, please contact the Human Resource Office for assistance.

Hours Of Work & Attendance

Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Occasional work beyond normal schedule may be required for events.

Reports for scheduled work shift(s) in a dependable and timely fashion in order to assure the smooth operation of the work unit and to minimize the interruption or delay of regular work output for the department. Has no (or very rare) unscheduled absences, occurrences of tardiness, or requests to leave early. (See employee Handbook for more detail.)

Travel

This position does not require travel except for possibly continuing education and required to work during special events and meetings (ie : Homecoming and Commencement), which involves evenings and weekends.
