Job Summary
Zoltek Corporation, a subsidiary of Toray Group, is seeking a dynamic General Manager of Business Development to spearhead sales growth and position Zoltek as a frontrunner in carbon fiber products aimed at the oil & gas and mobility sectors. This role focuses on collaborating with end-users and relevant supply chains across North America, Europe, and Asia to enhance their carbon application strategies. Key responsibilities include formulating and executing innovative marketing strategies, identifying essential technical support, and establishing global sales concepts.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement an effective business development strategy to foster growth and meet company objectives.
- Set ambitious goals and develop actionable plans targeting new market opportunities.
- Formulate both short-term and long-range strategies to achieve defined growth objectives.
- Gather and prioritize customer and product requirements, collaborating with partners in the plastics industry to meet revenue and profitability targets.
- Identify potential accounts and business opportunities through extensive research.
- Monitor sales performance relative to quotas and overall progress towards goals.
- Evaluate sales team performance against established metrics and KPIs.
- Facilitate regular sales meetings to review progress, share successful practices, and address challenges.
- Stay updated on Zoltek products and the competitive landscape.
- Develop pricing strategies that align with market positioning targets.
- Collect and organize data for reports, presentations, and special projects.
- Prepare and deliver reports on sales forecasts, performance metrics, and market trends to senior management.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer needs regarding product specifications, availability, and logistics are met.
- Coordinate product and technical training as needed.
- Participate in industry conferences and events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Educational Requirements
Strategic Business Development : Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive business and marketing strategies that support long-term growth and immediate customer needs.Leadership and Training : Strong leadership capabilities with evidence of building high-performance teams.Culture Change Agent : Experienced in driving organizational cultural change and enforcing global standards.Communicator : Excellent communication skills for engaging with key decision makers and developing effective marketing strategies.Administration and Budgets : Skilled in designing operational plans and budgets in alignment with corporate strategy.Industry Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of carbon fiber and composite manufacturing industries.International Experience : Familiarity with global supply chain dynamics, particularly in Europe and Asia.Work Experience : At least 10 years of experience in business development or technical sales.Education : Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred; an MBA is advantageous.Additional Requirements
