American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Kansas City, Missouri.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN with wound care and ostomy experience for a day shift position in a wound care unit, requiring a MO or compact RN license and WCC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a wound care unit with an average daily census of 52 patients
  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
  • Responsible for advanced wound, ostomy, and skin care for diverse patient population
  • Patient and family teaching regarding wound and skin care provided as part of daily duties
  • Completion of compliance modules (10-15 hours) required before orientation
  • Drug screening is mandatory; positive or diluted results not cleared by a Medical Review Officer will result in cancellation
  • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travel partners are not permitted for this assignment
  • Facility may offer without an interview, though interviews can be requested

    • Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Wound Care Certified (WCC) and current BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years recent specialty experience in wound / ostomy care with at least 1 full year in specialty within the past 12 months and no employment gap over 90 days
  • Proven skills in colostomy, ileostomy, continence skin care management, and various wound and ulcer assessments and management
  • Experience with a range of wound care products and therapies including VAC, alginates, foams, hydrogels, and wet-to-damp dressing changes
  • Must provide two recent professional references, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Pending licenses are not accepted
