Overview
Inpatient Coding Specialist - IRF. Schedule : Monday-Friday. Full time, 40hrs per week. You will be scheduled to work assigned facility business hours, generally between 6am-6pm in your time zone. Job Location : Remote.

Team
Rehabilitation Services - IRF Coding Team. Fully remote, collaborative team of 12. We provide a robust training program to ensure you have the tools and support to be successful.
How You'll Contribute
- Work remotely to code IRF records using the current ICD coding version within the timeframe set by the supervisor.
- Maintain coding schedule as assigned by the Area Director.
- Collaborate with the PPS Coordinator / Outcomes Manager to assign the Impairment Code for all admissions and other newly diagnosed conditions.
- Serve as back-up for the hospital to transmit IRF PAIs in a timely manner for all Medicare inpatients.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient care information to protect patient rights.
- Participate in continuing education classes and training programs.
- Complete annual health, safety and education requirements; maintain professional growth and development.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served.
- Report to work on time; adhere to absence notification policies.
- Attend all mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Comply with organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Work within the mission, vision, ethics and goals of the organization.
- Maintain current licensure / certification for the position, if applicable.
- Demonstrate guest relations skills with physicians, hospital staff and other individuals encountered.
- Follow Health, Safety, Security, and Hazardous Materials policies and procedures.
- HIPAA : Conduct responsibilities in accordance with HIPAA privacy laws and report any confidentiality issues to the supervisor.
- Compliance : Work in accordance with LifePoint's Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Advanced computer knowledge and knowledge of basic office equipment; appropriate telephone communication skills.

Certifications : RHIT, RHIA or coding certification (CCA, CCS) by AHIMA or CPC / CIC by AAPC required.Experience : Minimum two years of inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding (UB04 and IRF PAI).EEOC Statement
