Overview
Power Systems Engineer at Allen & Hoshall in Knoxville, TN. This role involves client communication, electric system modeling, and leading technical efforts within a design team. Relocation to the Knoxville, TN area is required.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients to understand project expectations and design criteria.
- Develop electric system models using Milsoft and SKM engineering analysis software.
- Prepare written and oral reports that explore electric system challenges and provide recommended solutions.
- Design substation and distribution line facilities using software and engineering judgement.
- Assist in calibration, testing, and programming of protective relays.
- Produce technical specifications that adhere to project design criteria and industry standards.
- Provide leadership in the candidate's specific area of technical expertise.
Qualifications
BSEE from an ABET-accredited university.At least five years of progressive experience with medium voltage power systems.Registration as a Professional Engineer or willingness to sit for the PE exam within 6 months.Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to provide on-site project observation and technical assistance during construction.Ability to work independently or as part of a design team.Willing to relocate to the Knoxville, TN area.Preferred : Experience with AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, Milsoft.Company Description
