Job Family Description

Project management personnel plan, monitor and manage internal projects from initiation through completion. Program management personnel manage programs responsible for the execution of multiple projects or sub-projects. They secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. They manage projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.

Discipline Description

Program managers are responsible for managing organization activities and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. They perform the tasks and responsibilities associated with ongoing work efforts and oversee multiple related projects or initiatives within the organization. Program managers coordinate resources, timelines, and stakeholders to deliver outcomes that meet quality standards and drive overall success.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include :

• Technology-related program functions to support key stakeholder site objectives, streamline funding requests, integrate program functions and ensure coordinated execution for the Federal government customer.
• The responsibilities are multi-faceted across various technology-related programs that include but are not limited to Information Technology, Operation Technology, NNSA Enterprise level efforts and strategic partnerships with vendor organizations and other DOE facilities.
• The role is highly relationship-based and requires strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. It requires experience in managing large programs to include strategic planning, risk management and stakeholder management.
• Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to : interfacing with and supporting key constituents (to include operations and engineering) to understand facility scope, site objectives and long-term strategic needs; developing / tracking SRNS performance milestones; developing presentations and communiques for stakeholders; detailing funding requirements, scope and schedule; developing annual and long-term budget outlooks; understanding variances between current year budget vs. actuals; and regular reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
