Introduction
Urbineer is looking for a CNC Prototype Machinist to be part of our team and will play a vital role in developing and prototyping systems. As a member of our team, you will be involved with a variety of projects : machining flightworthy thin-walled aerospace metallic parts, assembly tool fixtures, composite lamination masters and tools, and precision robotic system components. You will be working in a challenging and fast paced work environment on multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
- Programming
- Machine high-quality, precision parts and tooling in a variety of materials
- Provide manufacturing feedback to engineering to improve part producibility
- Operate mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, grinders, and sheet metal fabrication equipment
- Handle material from rough stock to finished parts
- Design and fabricate custom tools as required
- Read blueprints and other design documents as well as interpret verbal design instructions
- Performing in-process inspection to ensure dimensional accuracy of part features
- Work with the development team to create and maintain build schedules
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years’ experience as a machinist3+ years’ experience with Haas or equivalent CNC machinesDemonstrated fluency with MasterCAM or equivalent softwareExperience with stainless, aluminum, composites, and tooling board materialsProficiency safely operating mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, and grindersFlexibility to learn quickly in a fast-growing environment with aggressive timelinesStrong technical, mechanical, and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication skillsAbility to lift 40 lb. without aidU.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data and conform to ITAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with 5-axis CNC programming and operation10+ years’ experience as a machinist5+ years’ experience with Haas CNCsExperience operating a manual millFamiliarity operating metrology tools such as trackers and armsComputer skills a plus (MS Office, Outlook, etc.)In Return
