Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth payment processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.

Responsibilities

Review invoices to confirm appropriate documentation and approvals before processing.

Enter and upload invoices into accounting software with accuracy.

Process invoices and check requests in a timely and efficient manner.

Maintain organized records of invoices, purchase orders, and approvals.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices.

Communicate with vendors to address payment statuses and inquiries.

Provide necessary documentation to support audit requirements.

Assist in month-end closing activities to ensure financial accuracy.

Address accounts payable and receivable concerns by working with vendors or customers.

Reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger and update cash applications, account reconciliations, and chargebacks.

Requirements

Proven experience in Accounts Payable or a similar role.

Proficiency in invoice coding and account coding processes.

Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

Strong analytical skills to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.

Ability to maintain organized records and handle month-end closing tasks.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors and internal teams.

Knowledge of accounting software and general ledger reconciliation.

Detail-oriented approach to managing financial documentation and processes.
