We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night shift contract on our Medical-Surgical Acute Care unit. Location : Peoria, IL 61637 – Experience the vibrant riverfront, scenic parks, and welcoming community in central Illinois.

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 10 / 2025, End : 2 / 9 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts per week

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Unit : Med-Surg Acute Care (18 beds, primarily private rooms)

Scheduling : Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

Charting System : EPIC

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1,990 - $2,130 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application in process

BLS certification (AHA required)

Minimum 1 year of recent hospital experience in a Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) setting preferred

Proficient in titrating Heparin drips

Flexibility to float to other hospital units as needed

Negative drug screen required (OSF is a Drug-Free Campus)

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to general medical and surgical patients

Manage nurse-to-patient ratio of 5-6 : 1 during night shifts

Administer and titrate Heparin drips safely

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy staff

Work closely with patient care technicians and unit clerks to optimize patient outcomes

Participate in shift reports, weekend and holiday rotations, and unit-specific orientation

Perform IV starts and utilize unit resources as needed

Comply with hospital policies, including floating and dress code (any color scrubs, no pediatric prints)
