Piping Designer 3

Overview

We are seeking a Piping Designer to work on our projects to utilize computer-aided design programs like AutoCAD Plant 3D to develop an efficient, cost-effective pipe systems. You need strong drafting skills, and you must be familiar with all of the regulations that govern industry. You should have several years of experience in construction or 3D modeling. We also prefer that you have a Professional Piping Designer Certification.

Responsibilities

• Draft a 3D model in a CAD software
• Work with engineers to ensure your design is sound
• 3D piping and equipment modeling for entire projects; optimize piping design with some supervision
• Provide verbal input during model reviews
• Draft P&IDs, add redlines to developed P&IDs, and develop high level from-scratch P&IDs
• Generate project deliverables (isometrics, piping plans, plot plans, MTOs) and review prior to submission
• Demonstrate basic understanding of pipe specifications and materials through knowledge of ASTM and ASME codes and standards
• Understand ASME B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8 at a basic level
• Under supervision, generate project piping estimates for review with management
• Track schedule and budget during a project and anticipate manpower needs
• Track project scope changes and initiate change orders to management
