WHO YOU ARE :
Responsible for desktop, mobile, and network security, troubleshooting network access and implementing network security policies and procedures. Works independently within the established procedures to ensure network security access and protects against unauthorized access, modifications, or destruction. Performs risk assessments, audits, vulnerability remediation, and monitors network activity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Installs, administers, and troubleshoots network security solutions.
- Performs vulnerability and penetration tests, identifies and defends against threats, and develops disaster recovery plans
- First point of escalation for service desk and SIEM contractor for all security events.
- Updates software and hardware with the latest security patches and ensures the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
- Configures security systems, analyzes security requirements, and recommends improvements.
- Monitors network traffic for suspicious behavior.
- Administers anti-malware software.
- Administers certificates and PKI.
- Creates network policies and authorization roles and defends against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
- Develops and manages Identity and Access Management.
- Consults with staff, managers, and executives about the best security practices and provides technical advice.
- Configures and supports security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software.
- Trains staff to understand and use security protocols.
- Must maintain confidentiality of business information, including Protected Health Information (PHI), as required by HIPAA and company policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Cyber Security plus 2 years of experience or a combination of experience and education requiredDemonstrated experience with security applications and concepts in at least one of the following : Nessus, Firepower, TRAPS, and PKI requiredSecurity certifications such as Security +, CISSP, CISM are a plusMust be able to attain Security+ certification within the first year of employmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
A strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.Good teaching, interpersonal, and communication skills.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.A strong understanding and knowledge of Security tools and Cyber Security best practices.WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Work is typically performed in an office or other equivalently good environment with rare presence of abnormal variations in temperature or exposure to outside conditions. Physical effort normally found in clerical work or the equivalent. Work is primarily sedentary; however, occasional handling of small objects (up to approx. 20 lbs.), and occasional walking or standing may be required.TRAVEL :
Travel is occasionally required to office and data center locations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :
No supervisory responsibility.
