Traveling Conveyor Systems Technician – Central Midwest

ABOUT THE ROLE

Honeywell is seeking a Lead Field Service Technician to join our field service team. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex material handling equipment and systems, including conveyors, palletizers, and robots. This position involves extensive travel throughout the Central Midwest region, primarily covering metropolitan areas such as Columbus, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Detroit, MI; and Milwaukee, WI, with occasional nationwide travel as needed.

The ideal candidate will be based within this region and must reside within one hour of a major airport to support frequent travel requirements. A company vehicle (rental car) will be provided for business use.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform installation, servicing, and repair of material handling systems, including conveyors, palletizers, and robots.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems with minimal supervision.

Follow detailed work instructions and collaborate with engineering teams to update or amend outdated instructions.

Continuously improve training guides and documentation for both internal teams and customers.

Provide on-site customer training on equipment usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures.

Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly addressing any challenges related to equipment delivery and installation.

Other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Travel up to 100% by air and / or driving.

YOU MUST HAVE

At least 3 years of experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Hands-on experience working with conveyorsystems.

Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

WE VALUE

Previous experience in the material handling industry.

Experience with installation and technical service of equipment.

Allen Bradley PLC or similar experience.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

Ability to identify and correct mistakes in technical documentation and instructions.

A college degree or technical / professional certifications are a plus.

Compensation Information

The annual base salary range for this position is $66,400-$82,500. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
