Overview
Manager - Marketing and Public Relations : The Manager of Marketing & Public Relations is responsible for managing marketing and public relations efforts that support the College’s visibility, brand, and community engagement. This position supports institutional goals by overseeing the development and delivery of print, digital, video, and web content that promotes the College’s programs and services. The manager directs a team of creative professionals to ensure consistent messaging and high-quality materials for internal and external audiences while ensuring compliance with College policies, procedures, and security protocols.
This position is hybrid eligible with 1-2 day / week working from home after the training period.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
- Marketing Strategy and Oversight - Lead the planning, development, and implementation of marketing campaigns, publications, and promotional material at the direction of the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Legislative Advocacy.
- Ensure marketing content is innovative, meets project timelines, and aligns with institutional goals.
- Oversee college-wide marketing activities and evaluate effectiveness through data and strategic analysis.
- Manage the marketing department budget and allocate funds based on project needs and priorities.
- Serve as the liaison between the department and advertising agency of record.
- Ensure consistency and quality in institutional messaging across all communication channels.
- Serve as the backup to the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Legislative Advocacy in the development of College communications, advocacy letters, and public statements.
- Serve as the College’s brand champion, ensuring alignment of messaging with Western’s identity across platforms and audiences.
- Act as the primary point of contact with media partners, sending news releases and media advisories, drafting talking points, and preparing representatives for interviews.
- Direct public relations strategies that support the College’s image and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead coordination of PR-related College events and sponsorships.
- Promote College events using various communications channels.

Starting annual / hourly salary range based on education and experience : $61,350 - $81,734
