Overview
Associate Water Resources Engineer at Black & Veatch. Early-career Water Resource Planning position focused on stormwater planning and design, asset management, water quality and integrated planning. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion and work assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support hydrologic and hydraulic planning, modeling, and design of stormwater and wet weather improvements, including open channels, storm sewer systems, stormwater detention / retention facilities, dams, levees, and reservoirs.
- Support water supply planning that provides long-term resilient supplies and mitigates climate change, regulatory uncertainty, aging infrastructure, and population growth / demand changes.
- Support planning and design of green infrastructure, low impact development, and sustainable watershed measures, including structural BMPs.
- Support erosion and sediment control planning and design, including SWPPP development.
- Interface with innovative stormwater, water quality, and planning partners to leverage new technologies and approaches for the benefit of clients.
Preferred Qualifications
2-5 years of water resources planning, stormwater design, dam safety, and / or condition assessment experienceExperience developing and executing water resource planning and design projectsProficiency with working and collaborating in virtual environments (MS Teams, WebEx, Zoom)Proficiency with software applications such as :Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)ESRI ArcGIS or QGISAutoCADHEC-RASHEC-HMSEPA / XP-SWMMInfoWorksStormWise (formerly ICPR)Capable of conducting site reconnaissance and remote investigationsExperience with regulatory requirements and procedures (FEMA, USACE, EPA) preferredSupport client-facing and business development effortsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited programMinimum of 1 year related work experienceCertifications
