Senior Sales Executive, Energy Transition Marine

The Senior Sales Executive, Energy Transition Marine plays a key role in supporting the maritime sector's transition to low-carbon fuels and compliance with emerging global decarbonization regulations such as the EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, and IMO measures.
This role will focus on the development and execution of low-carbon fuel offerings, emissions reduction solutions, and customer-facing sustainability projects. The Executive will engage cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver regulatory-aligned, commercially viable decarbonization pathways that meet the evolving needs of marine fuel buyers and shipowners.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead research and development of low-carbon fuel solutions including biofuels (FAME, HVO), LNG, methanol, and future fuels such as ammonia and hydrogen-based carriers
- Support the creation of commercial offerings that align fuel availability, regulatory compliance, and emissions reduction targets
- Collaborate with internal supply, sustainability, and trading teams to evaluate sourcing strategies, blending options, certification schemes (ISCC, RSB), and credit eligibility
- Conduct comparative assessments of fuels based on carbon intensity, pricing, operational impact, and port availability to support customer decision-making
- Prepare customized proposals and energy transition roadmaps tailored to each customer's decarbonization goals and operational profile
- Support business case development for infrastructure investment and value proposition projects at key ports
Project Execution & Stakeholder Coordination :
Serve as day-to-day support on customer-facing decarbonization initiativesTrack progress and coordinate execution across internal stakeholders (supply, ESG, legal, operations)Monitor and report on regulatory developments and assist in compliance alignment for offeringsMaintain CRM data, manage internal trackers, and support bid and tender submissionsRegulatory & Sustainability Expertise :
Provide up-to-date insight on maritime regulations (EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, IMO CII and GFI) and translate implications for customersAssist with emissions modeling, lifecycle carbon assessments, and sustainability documentationSupport the ESG and sustainability teams with data inputs and certification processes (ISCC, RSB, etc.)Core Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Maritime Studies, Business, or related field5+ years of experience in marine fuels, sustainability, or energy transition rolesDeep understanding of maritime decarbonization regulations and low-carbon fuel technologiesStrong analytical skills in emissions modeling and fuel assessmentsCommercial acumen with experience in proposal development and customer engagementExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsFamiliarity with sustainability certification schemes (ISCC, RSB) and ESG frameworks
