Position Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Automotive Detailer to join our team. The successful candidate will have expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience detailing vehicles inside and out, delivering showroom-quality results, and ensuring every vehicle leaves our shop in pristine condition. This role requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive interior detailing (vacuum, carpet / upholstery cleaning, leather conditioning, dashboard and trim detailing, glass cleaning, odor elimination, stain treatment, and odor control).
Execute exterior detailing (wash, dry, clay bar, paint decontamination, polish, waxing / sealing, tire and wheel cleaning, tire dressing, and ceramic coating application as applicable).
Conduct paint correction steps (multistage polishing, swirl removal, defect assessment) with attention to paint integrity.
Remove and reinstall interior components as needed for thorough cleaning (trims, mats, seats, consoles).
Apply protective coatings and sealants to interior surfaces (leather, vinyl, plastics) and exterior finishes per skill level.
Use and maintain detailing equipment (pressure washers, extractors, steamers, vacuums, polishers, buffers, buffers, clay bars, brushes, microfiber towels, and masking materials).
Inspect vehicles for pre-existing damage and document findings.
Communicate with customers about services performed and recommended maintenance.
Adhere to safety protocols and chemical handling guidelines.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and report supply needs.
Contribute to quality control by inspecting final results and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Follow company standards for up-selling services and add-ons where appropriate.
Keep accurate work orders and invoices.
Qualifications
Proven experience in automotive detailing (interior and exterior) with a track record of high-quality results.
Expertise in interior cleaning, detailing products, stain removal, odor control, leather care, and fabric protection.
Proficiency in exterior detailing techniques, including washing, claying, polishing, waxing, and protective coatings.
Experience with paint correction and knowledge of varying paint types and finishes.
Familiarity with ceramic coatings, sealants, and protective film is a plus.
Knowledge of proper use and safety of detailing chemicals and equipment.
Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, extractors, steam cleaners, buffers, and orbital polishes.
Detail-oriented with a strong eye for color, texture, and cleanliness.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license; clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications (e.g., IWCA, I-CAR) are a plus.I’m
