Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Obtain a clear understanding of ASCE 38-02 standards and Quality Levels and their applications
- Provide underground utility flagging “designation” with proficiency, utilizing ground penetrating radar and electromagnet equipment and other geophysical means.
- Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, PVC, and all other underground facilities that would affect excavation of a site
- Mark said utilities with flags and / or paint and produce a sketch of results for future use by the client.
- Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment or “hand dig” to verify utility characteristics.
- Assist with maintenance of vehicles / trucks, equipment, and work sites.
- Research all utilities that may be on a site prior to entering the site.
- Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety practices
What you'll need
High School and / or specialized training from a vocational or technical schoolExperience with electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies is a plusBasic computer skills; Ability to learn and understand new software.Valid driver’s license with approved / acceptable driving history required.Ability to travel (if needed)Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project.Knowledge of equipment; Ability to set up for various types of work situationsDRMP Offers
