Attorney Editor – TR Labs – CoCounsel (Contract) Overview

Thomson Reuters Labs (TR Labs) is seeking licensed, experienced attorneys for a contract role that offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and machine learning technology . This unique position combines legal expertise with innovation in artificial intelligence to help shape the next generation of legal tools.

About the Role

As an Attorney Editor , you will :

Advise development teams on representative attorney workflows for real-world legal tasks

Review, evaluate, and analyze model outputs to ensure legal accuracy and quality

Stay up to date on relevant legal trends and developments

About You

You may be a strong fit if your background includes :

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school (Required)

Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Required)

Minimum 3 years of legal practice experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, government agency, or judicial role (Required)

Experience with any of the following (preferred but not required) :

Drafting contracts or pleadings

Conducting compliance reviews

Performing legal research

Evaluating or grading AI / LLM outputs

Creating LLM legal benchmark evaluations

Strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills

Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Proficiency in MS Office

Passion for technology and learning new tools

Experience using Thomson Reuters products (e.g., Westlaw, Practical Law, Document Intelligence) is a plus

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $45-$50 / hr USD.
