Purpose :
The Maintenance Technician- Stockyards is to provide mechanical, technical, and hands-on maintenance support to process and production operations. This role will also be responsible for accurate reporting of all work performed.
Accountabilities :
- Provide technical troubleshooting and training in the setup and operation of production equipment including all aspects of mechanical systems such as : Steam traps, Heat exchangers Valves, Pressure valves, Motors, Bearings, Dryers, VFDs, Agitators, and Seals
- Provide basic electrical troubleshooting and maintenance support of instruments and controls
- Hands on trouble shooting requiring root cause failure analysis, PM’s, testing, repairs, and modifying / improving equipment
- Provide practical and proactive problem-solving skills
- Record all maintenance actives in the maintenance work order system
- Organize and maintain accurate spare parts inventory
- Willing and able to work off hours, overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
Qualifications :
Education : High School DiplomaExperience :Industrial experience in electrical and mechanical support functions
Preferred Training- technical school (welding, HVAC, electrical, machining, etc.)Strong mechanical maintenance experience and strong knowledge of hand and power tool usageAbility to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs.Ability to : climb, lift, bend, push, pull, stoop, and twistAbility to : use tools and equipment to repair and provide maintenance while standing, crouching, stretching, and extending extremities, potentially under extreme work conditions and / or environment from exposed heightsAble to calibrate and maintain equipment to manufacturers specificationsAble to change priorities as needed to support immediate needs of plant operations, and complete scheduled maintenance activities.Able to record all maintenance activities in the Maintenance Work Order systemContinue to grow maintenance and leadership skillsets through assigned trainingDemonstrated knowledge of repairing and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systemsDiagnose and test malfunctioning machinery and discuss plan to restore to full operation with key facility personnelExperience with organizing and maintaining an accurate spare parts inventory Good understanding of PLC controlsGood understanding of boiler operationsMaintain the proper stock of tools and electrical parts to perform routine workMust be able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprintsMust be knowledgeable of OSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical and mechanical operations and componentsPrepare maintenance reports for management as directedWorking knowledge of three phase motors, programmable controls, circuits, computer interfaces and National Electrical CodeSkills :
Technical training in essential skills such as electrical, welding, precision machining, HVAC is a plusAble to demonstrate practical problem-solving skills
