Director, Center for Multicultural Affairs
The Director of the Center for Multicultural Affairs provides leadership for the development, implementation, and assessment of programs and policies that promote social justice, civic engagement, and community development. The Director will foster an inclusive student community. They oversee the operations as well as educational, social, and cultural initiatives of the Center for Multicultural Affairs. The Director engages in activities that educate the community at large about issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Strategic Planning, Fundraising and Fiscal Management (30%)
Program Design and Initiatives (30%)
Supervision and Professional Development (25%)
University Service and Collaborations (10%)

Anticipated Pay Rate : Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $62,000 to USD $102,000. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education / training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Minimum Qualifications : Education Master's degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Ethnic and / or Cultural Studies, or other relevant discipline. Experience Minimum of four years of experience in program administration in an academic or counseling setting, or related area with progressive levels of responsibilities.
Preferred Skills and Competencies : Experience in supervision and performance management as well as program development and budget administration. Knowledge of and experience working with diversity and social justice issues. Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead in a team environment Outstanding organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects / priorities and meet deadlines Expertise in delivering programs and outreach education to students. Experience in the use of technology for improving the delivery and evaluation of programs and services. Knowledge of appropriate financial practices in a university setting. Demonstrated success in staff recruitment, development and retention. Ability to negotiate and resolve multiple complex problems in a timely manner Strategic planning and basic assessment skills
