What The Role Entails

Are you a seasoned construction and design professional eager to lead the delivery of high-design multifamily and mixed-use projects? Dalian Development is seeking a Director of Design and Construction to oversee and execute complex ground-up developments across the country. You’ll work closely with internal and external teams to ensure each project delivers on our commitment to quality, design integrity, and performance.

What You Will Get to Do

• Lead the design and construction process from predevelopment through project closeout on multifamily and mixed-use developments.
• Manage internal project delivery teams and external consultants, including architects, engineers, general contractors, and specialty vendors.
• Oversee project design coordination, ensuring alignment with budget, operational goals, and the company’s architectural vision.
• Prepare and manage construction budgets, schedules, and risk assessments. Monitor cost variances and implement value engineering strategies while preserving design quality.
• Work with municipalities, architects, and consultants to secure all required permits and approvals.
• Facilitate RFP processes, bid reviews, and contractor negotiations. Ensure comprehensive scope coverage and bid leveling.
• Lead weekly project meetings, site visits, and cross-functional coordination with development, finance, and operations teams.
• Establish and maintain QA / QC protocols throughout construction.
• Drive innovation in construction techniques, sustainability initiatives, and project delivery strategies.
