Compensation Range : $54,485.00 - $73,715.00
Variable Compensation : Up to $10,000 annually
Position Summary : The Field Sales Representative works as a member of the Sales team to partner with on-premise retailers, off-premise retailers, and wholesale distributors to ensure sales goals are met and customers feel valued. Essential Duties And Responsibilities :
Focus 100% on selling our entire product portfolio, including MadTree beers and Sway ready-to-drink cocktails, into on and off-premise retail accounts.Travel regularly in the assigned market territory of Northern Kentucky with occasional trips to Louisville, Lexington, and other parts of Kentucky. You will service on-premise retailers, off-premise retailers, and distributors; with occasional travel for meetings and trainings outside of your designated territory.Develop and maintain close, positive, and productive relationships with distribution and retail partners.Perform 50+ account sales calls per week and achieve specified quarterly sales goals (e.g. displays, promotions, placements, rate of sale, etc.).Build and maintain relationships and secure new distribution and placements through persistent outreach and systematic follow-up.Deliver weekly sales recaps showcasing new package / draft placements, displays, and other sales activities relevant to our distributor partners.Execute event activations such as tastings, samplings, staff trainings, and festivals to grow brand awareness and sales.Improve brand position and shelf space by building displays, resetting coolers / shelves, and displaying point-of-sale items to increase brand awareness and product visibility.Track execution progress in all identified accounts and against specific programming using digital tools such as VIP KARMA and VIP iDIG.Proactively plan work weeks by identifying top-buying / non-buying accounts and develop a plan to establish or grow business in these accounts.Provide a high level of service and exceed expectations with all customer interactions (distributor and retail accounts), ensuring timely responses and consistent follow-through on all commitments.Operate effectively within company and budgetary guidelines.Adhere to all state and federal laws pertaining to the sale, merchandising, and promotion of malt beverages.Enthusiastically spend a minimum of 16 hours per year volunteering (paid) for MadTree impact initiatives.Qualification Requirements :
1+ years outside sales experience selling to retailers and consumers, preferably working within a distribution network and within the three-tier system.Valid driver's license with active auto insurance, safe driving record, and reliable vehicle; comfort with regular auto travel.Working smart phone with data plan to access apps necessary to complete daily tasks.Ability to occasionally work weekends and holidays to support the needs of the business.Proven track record of self-motivated sales success with minimal supervision.Strong knowledge of the local market for craft beer and other alcoholic beverages is preferred.Important Skills And Abilities :
Outstanding communicator with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively in person, via phone, email, and text; comfortable presenting to groups and one-on-one.Highly self-motivated and proactive; takes initiative to identify opportunities and solve problems without prompting.Exceptional follow-up and follow-through skills; maintains detailed notes and systematically closes loops on all commitments and action items.Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with distributors, top-level account decision makers, and all internal stakeholders.Positive attitude with growth mindset; proactive, goal-oriented, and resilient with the ability to manage new and difficult situations easily.High-level knowledge of the three-tier alcohol system, alcohol distribution, and working with distribution partners.Proficient in digital technology, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data entry and organization.Experience working with VIP iDIG / Karma preferred.Physical Requirements :
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving (4-6 hours daily); ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.Ability to frequently talk, hear, and use vision for safe driving and reading product labels, shelf tags, and point-of-sale materials.Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell.Ability to frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds (cases of product, promotional materials, display items).Ability to occasionally lift and / or move up to 170 pounds (kegs, with proper lifting techniques and equipment).Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to handle or feel objects when merchandising, building displays, and setting up promotional materials.Ability to enter and exit a vehicle multiple times per day (20+ times) and navigate stairs, uneven surfaces, and loading docks.Work Environment :
This is a field-based position requiring extensive daily driving. The majority of work time is spent traveling alone in a personal vehicle throughout the assigned territory, often covering 100+ miles per day in varied weather and traffic conditions.Work locations vary daily and include on-premise accounts (bars, restaurants, taprooms), off-premise retail stores, and distributor warehousesfrequently transitioning between outdoor and indoor environments with temperature extremes (walk-in coolers, loading docks) and varying noise levels.Limited traditional office time; most administrative work (reporting, email communication, scheduling) is completed remotely via smartphone and laptop from vehicle, home, or account locations.Occasional evening and weekend work at festivals, tastings, and promotional events; the employee occasionally works on wet floors and with wet equipment in retail and warehouse settings.
