Salary Range : $180,000 - $225,000

Overview

A distinguished single family office seeks an exceptional Household / Estate Manager to oversee comprehensive domestic operations at their premier Bridgehampton estate. This operational role supports a Principal family with deeply rooted values centered on human dignity, environmental stewardship, and meaningful community engagement, enabling the family to focus on their philanthropic pursuits and personal interests while maintaining an atmosphere of discretion and purposeful living across multiple properties.

The successful candidate will be a key operational support family's domestic lifestyle, managing day-to-day operations with strong autonomy and minimal Principal involvement. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, unwavering integrity, and the ability to anticipate needs proactively, ensuring seamless coordination of household management, staff supervision, vendor relationships, and property maintenance functions. Expectations

  • Minimum five to seven years of progressive experience in estate management, luxury residential operations, or private family office environments with demonstrated success managing domestic operations and coordinating with household staff teams.
  • Proven expertise in comprehensive estate management, vendor relationship development, and operational coordination with a strong background in supporting the establishment of domestic protocols and maintaining properties to impeccable standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in team coordination and supporting talent acquisition with proven ability to help build high-performing household teams through assisting with strategic hiring, comprehensive training programs, and performance management systems in staffing-constrained environments.
  • Exceptional diplomatic communication skills with the ability to coordinate diverse teams while maintaining harmonious working relationships and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment aligned with family values of human dignity and community care.
  • Working knowledge of contract review and vendor management with experience in domestic service agreements, vendor contracts, and household operational documentation, ensuring all arrangements align with family standards and fiscal responsibility.
  • Solid financial acumen with experience supporting household budgets, expense management, and resource optimization while identifying cost-saving opportunities that align with the family's conservation values without compromising service excellence.
  • High emotional intelligence with exceptional discretion and confidentiality standards, demonstrating the fortitude and self-confidence to work effectively with strong personalities while maintaining professional boundaries and working collaboratively with senior staff.
  • A genuine service heart combined with strong operational capabilities, able to anticipate needs proactively while operating with appropriate supervision from the Executive Manager and taking ownership of domestic operational outcomes.
  • Experience in pet care management and understanding of household dynamics that include beloved family animals, ensuring comprehensive care standards extend to all family members.

Responsibilities

  • Executive Support : Create a seamless domestic environment that enables the Executive Manager and family to focus on strategic priorities and meaningful pursuits. Proactively anticipate needs and manage assigned household operations efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption while maintaining exceptional service standards that reflect family values and create bandwidth for the entire team.
  • Comprehensive Estate Oversight : Maintain the Bridgehampton estate to impeccable standards, ensuring the property remains consistently guest-ready and operationally prepared for family visits. Support the development of comprehensive property documentation, including operational manuals, maintenance protocols, and inventory management systems that prioritize sustainability and efficiency. Coordinate property readiness for family arrivals and ensure seamless transitions between occupied and unoccupied periods.
  • Household Team Coordination : Support comprehensive team development initiatives to address current staffing shortages, including assisting with recruitment and management of additional housekeeping staff and a potential horticulture specialist. Assist with recruitment processes, candidate evaluations, and onboarding programs for all household positions while helping to establish performance management systems and professional development pathways.
  • Vendor Management & Contract Administration : Serve as primary liaison for all household vendors, contractors, and service providers. Conduct thorough contract reviews, negotiate service agreements, and ensure all vendor relationships align with family standards for quality, reliability, and value. Coordinate access for gardeners, maintenance personnel, and other service providers while maintaining security protocols.
  • Daily Operations Management : Oversee all aspects of assigned domestic lifestyle management, including routine maintenance coordination, household systems monitoring, and preventive care protocols. Manage tasks ranging from battery replacements and equipment maintenance to ensuring optimal functionality of all household systems and amenities.
  • Pet Care Coordination : Provide comprehensive care management for the family dog, including daily care routines, veterinary coordination, and integration of pet needs into overall household operations and travel planning.
  • Strategic Project Coordination : Direct diverse household initiatives ranging from routine maintenance to specialized projects. Monitor progress, identify potential challenges, and develop scalable solutions that can be effectively delegated while maintaining quality standards and resource efficiency.
  • Confidentiality & Discretion Management : Uphold the highest standards of discretion in all professional interactions, ensuring family privacy is maintained while fostering an environment of formal yet authentic, refined living that reflects the family's values and lifestyle preferences.
