Compensation $120,000 - $140,000 DOE

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented EXPERIENCED Tax Trusts and Estates Paralegal to join our client's team conveniently located in the Gateway Center in Newark, NJ. This non-exempt position reports directly to the Administrative Manager and will support Tax Trusts and Estates Attorneys.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate and trust administration, financial management, and legal documentation, with a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and third parties.

Key responsibilities include managing estate and trust checkbooks, preparing and processing disbursements, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining accurate financial records. Client communication and accuracy is essential, as the role involves gathering information, providing updates, and maintaining organized client files.

In estate administration, the paralegal will gather and analyze asset information, obtain valuations, prepare inventories, and assist with estate accountings and tax filings. Trust administration duties include tracking income and distributions, maintaining records, and preparing trust accountings.

Additional responsibilities include drafting correspondence and legal documents, assisting with probate filings, conducting specialized research, and contributing to the development of consistent internal procedures for court and tax filings. The successful candidate will demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of work efficiently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and iManage Document Management System is required. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a Tax Trusts and Estates Paralegal in a law firm, along with an Associate or Bachelor's degree and / or a Paralegal Certificate.
