Job Overview

The Electrical Engineer, Facilities oversees the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of the plant power distribution system, equipment, infrastructure, and utilities in a vehicle manufacturing facility. This role ensures all electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for machinery, HVAC, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs; maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
• Organize and produce engineering drawings for the installation and commissioning of new and existing designs in medium voltage stations, including grounding, conduits, and protection relay systems.
• Collaborate with facilities maintenance technicians to troubleshoot facility systems or equipment failures.
• Oversee building electrical systems including lighting, fire protection alarm systems, heating / cooling, and security.
• Lead and support design teams through conceptual, preliminary, and final design of station projects; perform engineering studies and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Prepare specifications, evaluate bids, and recommend materials and contractors.
• Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance and facilities budget, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards; conduct safety inspections and support emergency response planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and facility efficiency; collaborate with engineering and production teams on capital projects and upgrades using Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies.
