General Description And Classification Standards
Manages multiple kitchen operations within the Atlanta Detention Center. This position is in charge of the operational responsibilities for the kitchen.
Salary Range
$44,286.17 - $54,418.23 annually
Supervision Received
Works under the direction of a Food Service Manager or a Food Service Supervisor and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and experience managing kitchen sanitation and safety standards and methods; basic math for reports; skill in supervising kitchen equipment; skill in high-volume food preparation and cooking; judgment; ability to assist with emergencies related to food service operations; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for long periods.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in supervising or leading in a food service environment.
Licensure and Certifications
ServSafe Certification. Must successfully complete departmental background investigation. Must successfully complete and pass drug / alcohol screening.
Preferred Requirements
One (1) or more years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity or similar experience including menu planning and special diet needs; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Lifting Requirements
Medium work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
