Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 08 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in an acute care, Level II trauma setting requiring a NE or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Responsibilities Work in a 33-bed adult Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital Unit sees trauma, cardiac, overdose / substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress cases Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 Must titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips Care responsibilities include managing patients from nasal cannula to ventilator support Responsible for reading, interpreting, and documenting EKG / telemetry strips, with GE monitors and tele tech oversight Float requirements include PCU and occasionally MedSurg with typical ratios of 1 : 4 or 1 : 5 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend required Required to work at least two holidays if dates fall within contract Uses Epic EMR Participate in one shift of unit-specific orientation Nurse aides and healthcare support techs available to assist based on census and volume Self-scheduling is available for core staff, with travelers added in; block scheduling is not guaranteed Up to 7 days of time off may be requested up front per 13-week contract; additional time off is not approved after submission First time travelers are eligible for this assignment Standard hospital dress code applies; artificial nails not permitted Requirements Active NE or compact RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required Must provide two references : one supervisor from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Driver's license required for verification of address; must live at least 50 miles from the facility Cannot have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas Must pass a skills exam during orientation with a score of at least 90% Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627291.
