Estimator
Position Purpose
This team member will prepare detailed trade scopes and cost estimates for projects that support the strategic plan of the company.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to : Sr. Estimator / Purchasing Agent
Directly supervises : Quantity Surveyors, Estimating Interns
Experience
- 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
- History of securing successfull design-build, design-bid-build, and CMaR projects
Education
B.S. / B.A. in construction related discipline or equivilant combination of technical training and construction experience.Skills and Proven Abilities
Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the profile of a Bandy PersonHave a solid understanding of how the construction industry operates in regard to sourcing, partnering, and trade subcontractor business operations.Have a complete understanding of all construction systems, cost estimating and budgeting, and delivery methodsWorking knowledge of material unit costs, systems square foot costs, and total building square foot costsAdvanced organizational skills and ability to multi-task to consistently meet deadlinesAbility to idenfity and anticipate project obstacles, challenges, etc. and determine effective solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prepare detailed estimates for projects up to $30 millionProven ability to build relationships with Owners, Architects, and SubcontractorsProficient with Estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn software programs quicklyEssential Duties & Responsibilities

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some bending, stooping, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds is required.
Additional Requirements
Due to the nature of this role, local travel will be required up to 25%. Drivers License, personal vehicle and auto insurance must remain current at levels deemed appropriate by Bandy Constructors and employees must remain in good standing for insurability purposes.
Successful completion of a fingerprint background check and drug screen
