CIVIL SERVICE JOB TITLE : Library Assistant

STARTING SALARY RANGE : $21.98 / hr.

FULL-TIME / PART-TIME : Part-Time

WORKWEEK : 9 : 00 a.m. to 8 : 00 p.m. (16 hours / week). Required to work evenings and weekends as needed.

ABOUT THIS POSITION : The Jersey City Free Public Library is looking for a part-time Library Assistant to help staff and patrons at the Pavonia Branch.

Job Duties :

• Shelves used materials, performs shelf reading duties.
• Assists patrons with finding materials.
• Assists in answering in-person, phone and electronic patron queries.
• Operates standard office machines, such as copiers or calculators.
• Informs individuals of library services.
