Key Responsibilities
Process Optimization and Development : Design, develop, and implement efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes and systems for automotive components and assemblies (e.g., powertrain, body-in-white, chassis).Specify, justify, and manage the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment, tooling, and machinery, ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards and safety regulations.Conduct time studies, process capability analysis (Cp / Cpk), and root cause analysis of production issues to eliminate bottlenecks and improve throughput.Develop and maintain accurate standard work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.Quality and Continuous Improvement : Collaborate with Quality and Design Engineering teams to implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles and resolve part quality issues using methodologies like 8D or A3 problem-solving.Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (e.g., Kaizen events, value stream mapping) to reduce waste, scrap, and rework.Ensure all processes comply with IATF 16949 standards and internal quality requirements.Tooling and Equipment Management : Manage the design, procurement, and maintenance schedules for jigs, fixtures, gauges, and production tooling.Program and troubleshoot Robotics and automated manufacturing systems (e.g., welding, assembly).Project Management and Collaboration : Lead capital projects from concept through to successful production launch, managing budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships.Act as a technical liaison between Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless product introductions and engineering changes.Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, specifically within the automotive or a highly regulated, high-volume manufacturing environment.Technical Skills : Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, or AutoCAD).Proven experience with high-volume machining, welding, assembly, or stamping processes typical in automotive production.Solid understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).Soft Skills : Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Preferred Qualifications
