Inside Sales Representative

Zipcar's business-to-business segment is critical for the company's growth. The Sales Inside Representative is responsible for accelerating Zipcar's B2B sales pipeline growth by performing Inside Sales Representative responsibilities. This role sources leads at scale, qualifies inbound prospects, and optimizes the lead generation processes. Their efforts will directly impact the number of qualified opportunities available to our Business Development Managers, enabling them to accelerate sales revenue.

The Sales Inside Representative reports into the Zipcar for Business team. The ideal candidate will fuel Zipcar's sales pipeline by providing Business Development Managers with a consistent flow of qualified leads. We're looking for a proactive, results-driven individual who takes initiative, seeks growth, and is ready to learn and contribute to our team's success.

What You'll Do :

  • Drive sales pipeline growth
  • Source new sales opportunities through outbound outreach (email, cold calls)
  • Qualify inbound leads to determine their potential and fit for handoff to the appropriate Business Development Representative
  • Create and maintain a targeted prospect outreach list of high-fit organizations and prospects including email, phone and other contact information
  • Research accounts and 'look alike' businesses to continuously grow the prospect list, using ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, Salesforce and other resources
  • Maintain and optimize the lead generation sales cycle
  • Maintain lead generation email communication sequences, track effectiveness, and regularly identify communication opportunities to improve engagement and conversion
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date lead records in Salesforce
  • Prepare lead generation reports and analyze results for Zipcar Sales Leadership
  • Help identify, and continuously refine, Zipcar's Ideal Customer Profile
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, industry trends, and top performing Zipcar businesses to improve lead generation efforts
  • Effectively collaborate with team members and prospects
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Zipcar Business Development Managers and Account Managers
  • Work effectively with Sales Operations to help establish Lead Generation best practices from initial outreach to qualified lead and handoff to Business Development Managers
  • Establish a positive rapport with potential organizational business partners
  • Collaborate with accounting, sales ops and sales teams to review and send customer invoices, ensuring all billing information is correct and sent according to contract terms.

What Drives Success For This Role :

  • Current student pursuing a relevant college-level program including business administration, sales, marketing or communications; in good academic standing
  • Has a basic understanding of the sales process; is interested in learning and applying sales techniques; demonstrates a genuine interest in pursuing a career in sales
  • Comfortable using CRM software (Salesforce, ZoomInfo), LinkedIn Navigator, email platforms, Microsoft Word and Excel; able to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills; is able to articulate information clearly, concisely and confidently; equally comfortable with phone and email communication
  • Can build rapport and establish relationships with others; has strong listening skills to understand others' needs
  • Is motivated, positive, and driven with a proactive and results-oriented attitude; willing to learn and take initiative; is an effective problem-solver able to handle objections or obstacles and find solutions

  • Good-Faith Salary Range :

    The hourly rate for this position is between $20-24 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography / market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
