Position Purpose : - The State of South Carolina seeks a senior-level SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to provide expert IV&V technical engineering consulting in support of complex, enterprise healthcare IT projects. The role is integral to large-scale, mission-critical Medicaid, MMIS, and public sector technology environments, focusing on secure and resilient database management, process improvement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, optimize, and secure enterprise-class SQL Server environments across both Windows and Linux platforms
• Lead database high availability / disaster recovery (HA / DR) architecture, solutions, and testing (including Data Guard)
• Guide performance tuning, query optimization, backup, recovery, and security best practices
• Develop, review, and implement database change management procedures, documentation, and monitoring strategies
• Support and mentor development teams for web-based enterprise solutions leveraging SQL Server and related technologies
• Automate administrative tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell scripting
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations concerning PHI, PII, and related healthcare data
• Engage with project managers, technical teams, and stakeholders to support delivery milestones and system integration
