Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of Senior Procurement Specialist at the Shawnee, KS location.
Position Overview :
We are seeking aSenior Procurement Specialistto join our growing team. This role is responsible for leading procurement activities across multiple locations with a strong focus on value generation, supplier collaboration, and compliance in a regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings deep procurement expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in complex sourcing initiatives.
Responsibilities :
Manage relationships with key suppliers of materials and services to the Argenta site(s) and globally as directed, to negotiate most cost-effective terms for the supply of major contract items.Be accountable for procurement activities achieving targets and objectives, ensuring consistency in systems, processes, and procedures, and on-time delivery to support production plans.Support and lead as directed, global procurement initiatives to standardize material and service providers and reduce costs, including IT, Financial, Travel, Utilities, Insurance, and others.Drive Material Change Controls, Materials CAPAs, and Deviation Actions as required within respective portfolio.Support the Site GM(s) with strategy and business plans by identifying and communicating improvement opportunities.Maintain awareness of market and technology trends and make recommendations to maximize cost-saving opportunities and minimize risk in procuring direct materials and services to Argenta.Drive supplier KPIs and procurement strategy to deliver superior customer service and cost savings.Provide input and support for annual customer pricing reviews.Identifies and source new materials in support of PDS.Sets Inventory Standards (Safety Stock, lead times, MOQ, Order Multiples) in collaboration with the Head of Supply Chain, to enable Systems automation of purchasing.Identification of supply chain risk for direct materials and leads projects to mitigate risk, such as identification and qualification of alternative suppliers.Optimises cash flow for Argenta through inventory policy (SS and LT) and payment terms that provide the right service to the business whilst minimizing total inventory value.Investigate and resolves anomalies with material suppliers via Non-Conformance Reports, root cause analysis, and preventative action.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Ability to travel as required up to 10%Strong independent decision-making ability with a high degree of autonomy.Demonstrated experience working in regulated industries (e.g., GMP environments).Advanced negotiation skills focused on total value, not just cost savings.Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across departments and locations.Proficient in ERP and procurement systems.Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelors degree in supply chain, Business, or related field preferred.5+ years of advanced procurement experience in a U.S. or global organization.Proven success in complex sourcing, contract negotiations, and vendor management.Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.Experience in animal health or contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMO) is highly preferred.Argenta has strongly embedded company values which is key to who we are and how we deliver.
